About the speaker - Jeff Coulter is a Professor and Extension Specialist of corn-based cropping systems at the University of Minnesota. He has a Ph.D. in crop sciences from the University of Illinois. His responsibilities include agronomic extension and research to increase the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of corn-based cropping systems. His research focuses on addressing current and future challenges through field trials on farms with growers and at university research and outreach centers. Current research is focused on nitrogen management and sustainable intensification. This serves as the foundation for educational programs for agricultural professionals and growers.
About the seminars – The seminars are a joint effort of the Cropping Systems research groups at the Southwest and Southern Research and Outreach Centers led by Axel Garcia y Garcia and Gregg Johnson, respectively. Our goal is to generate sound debate on current and future cropping systems that increase profitability and resiliency, improve resource use efficiency, and contribute to environmental quality.
