Horticulture Day in Waseca set for Saturday, March 2
The 25th annual Horticulture Day will be held at the Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca on Saturday, March 2. Pre-registration is required and due by Monday, February 18.
The event begins with registration and refreshments at 8:30 a.m. followed by the program at 9:00 a.m. An excellent program will include Diane Dunham, weekly garden column writer for the Mankato Free Press, talking about prepping your garden in the spring and fall, “Waking the Garden Up & Putting it to Bed”. John & Jenny Thull, with their 10 years’ experience at the Horticultural Research Center, will share their knowledge and what they’ve learned about “Growing Heirloom Pumpkins, Squashes, and Gourds”. Mike Heger, author of Growing Perennials in Cold Climates, has over forty years of horticultural experience in both public and private horticulture. He will talk about culture, care, and varietal selection in his presentation, “Best Performing Perennials for Cold Climates”.
