    Chamber Committees and Priorities

Your Chamber of Commerce PROGRAM OF WORK is designed to meet membership needs.  It is a volunteer organization of individuals and businesses who band together for the collective best interest of developing Waseca’s future.

    Membership Retention /Growth/Services Division:

Seeks to develop and promote membership participation and recognition through our program of work. Develops opportunities for business to business discount savings with networking and educational workshops, Business After Hours Membership Mixer, online benefits, recognition events, leadership development, Discover Waseca Careers-business tours, and Resource Center.

    Economic Development Division:

Seeks to bring awareness of economic plans and projects affecting the greater Waseca community; issues dealing with economic development, retail, service, industrial, commercial tourism, and agribusiness economies.  Serves as a think tank to create community vision for economic development and growth.  The chamber works to communicate the advantages of living and doing business in Waseca.  “GrowMN” program is a vital part of this initiative.  It is a private sector, Minnesota wide program, partnering with Minnesota Chamber created to retain business and dedicated to producing jobs and growing economic prosperity for our local area.  The “GrowMN” program conducts business interviews, builds relationships, and analyzes the collected data to effectively respond for assistance.

    Ambassador Committee:

The Chamber Ambassadors are comprised of business professionals that serve as the chamber’s liaison to the business community. Dressed in their red uniform jackets, these professionals present Progress Awards to deserving businesses in the community.  The group recognizes investments in the community and promote the value of chamber membership.

    Waseca Proud Division:

Assists in the development of local business enterprise promotion (e.g. Chamber Bucks-Think Local First program) and supports the promotion of chamber and community events.  Continues to improve chamber web presence and social media.

    AgriBusiness Committee:

Maintains a liaison with agribusiness organizations, lends support in developing initiatives that assist the growth of the agribusiness industry in our area, highlights the role of agribusiness in the regional economy, and strengthens the agriculture business sector of our community.

    Government Affairs Division:

The board of directors is a facilitator of the business community that establishes lines of communication with businesses, Waseca City Council, Waseca County Commissioners, and the local school boards, gathering relevant facts and analyzes government policies affecting business.  The chamber advocates for a thriving business environment that enhances local economic vitality.  The chamber serves as the proactive voice for business in local and state government issues advocating on their behalf when deemed appropriate.
