Scarecrow Contest at Farmamerica

HOW IT WORKS:

Contestants must use the scarecrow frame provided by Farmamerica. All other supplies are up to you. 

Choose a time to decorate your scarecrow on-site on October 8, 9, or 10.  (Upon registration, you will receive a link to a Google Form to select your decorating time.) Scarecrows will stay up until October 17th and will be on display around our Time Lane Trail for our Fall Festival and MEA Discovery Days. 

ELIGIBILITY/ENTRY FEE:

Our scarecrow contest is open to all ages, individuals, families, clubs, classrooms, nonprofits, and businesses.

Entry is just $25, and nonprofits enter free of charge!

RULES: 

1. Scarecrows must be built on the provided frame. 
2. Scarecrows must be able to fit in a 6’x6′ footprint once assembled. 
3. Entries deemed offensive, political, not family friendly, or not in the good-natured spirit of the event will be removed.
4. Entrants are responsible for setup and must ensure their scarecrow can withstand the elements. 

JUDGING CRITERIA:

• Creativity – 5 points possible – unique, original concept
• Design – 5 points possible – technique, materials used
• Construction – 5 points possible – can your scarecrow withstand the elements (wind and rain)
• Overall Impressions – 5 points possible – how eye-catching, creative, and cohesive is it as a whole

PRIZES:

• Judges Panel: $100 Cash + Scarecrow Trophy
• People’s Choice: Scarecrow Trophy
