Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Presents $5,000 Check to Waseca Community Lights Committee

WASECA, MN — The Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism proudly presented a $5,000 check to the Waseca Community Lights Committee in support of its mission to transform Waseca into a vibrant and welcoming winter destination.

Formed to enhance community pride, support local businesses, and celebrate Waseca’s cherished winter traditions—most notably the historic Sleigh & Cutter Festival—the Waseca Community Lights Committee is working in collaboration with the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. The Waseca Art Center is serving as the fiscal agent for the initiative.
“This donation represents our belief in the power of community and the spirit of Waseca,” said Mikhail Rostislavovich, President of the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.
“The lighting project will not only beautify our downtown but also strengthen tourism, local commerce, and the bonds that make our city special.”

Through a phased approach extending through 2028, the committee plans to install and maintain festive lighting and decorations that will create a magical atmosphere downtown and beyond during the winter season.
“This is about more than just lights—it's about joy, tradition, and community pride,” said Mayor Randy Zimmerman, Committee Chair. “We are incredibly grateful for the Chamber’s support and excited to continue working together to make Waseca shine bright.”

To support the Waseca Community Lights initiative, donations are welcome. Please make checks payable to the Waseca Art Center and note “Waseca Community Lights” on the memo line. Payments can be mailed or dropped off at the Waseca Art Center, located at 200 State St N, Waseca, MN 56093.
